Solar flare

Earth science

A splash of the solar flame - plasma is an explosive process of energy release (kinetic, light and thermal) in the atmosphere of the Sun. Flares covers all layers of the solar atmosphere: the photosphere, chromospher and the crown of the sun. Solar flares and coronal weight emissions are different and independent solar activity. The duration of the pulsed phase of solar flares usually does not exceed a few minutes, and the amount of energy released during this time can reach billion megatons in TNT equivalent.
