Models accommodating settlements: linear, agglomeration, uniform

On any map showing the placement of settlements, three main types of similar placement can be distinguished: linear, in which location of settlements is predetermined by transport highways - by road or railways, shipping rivers; agglomeration, where the accumulation of settlements is observed around a large city, mineral deposits or due to the favorable geographical position of the territory; Uniform accommodation is characteristic of settlements that perform the functions of the provision of goods and services of a uniformly placed rural population.
