Meiosis

This model demonstrates the phases of meiosis. How are germ cells formed? Through meiosis! Meiosis is the process of cell division that leads to the formation of haploid germ cells - gametes. There are 2 stages of meiosis: meiosis 1 and meiosis 2. In the first meiosis, the number of chromosomes in a cell is halved, and two haploid cells are formed from a diploid cell. And in the second meiosis, cell haploidy is preserved, DNA doubling does not occur.
