Corynebacterium diphtheria

This model demonstrates the structure of corynebacterium diphtheria. Corynebacterium diphtheriae is a type of gram-positive rod-shaped bacteria of the genus Corynebacteria, the causative agent of diphtheria. They are straight, slightly curved, polymorphic rod-shaped bacteria. Metachromatic grains of volutin are localized at the poles of the cells, giving the cells a characteristic "club" shape.
