Escherichia coli

This model demonstrates the structure of E. coli. Escherichia coli is a type of gram-negative, rod-shaped bacteria common in the lower intestines of warm-blooded animals. Most strains of E. coli are harmless, but serotype O157: H7 can cause severe food poisoning in humans and animals.
