Helicobacter pylori

This model demonstrates the structure of Helicobacter pylori. It is a coiled gram-negative bacterium that infects various areas of the stomach and duodenum. Many cases of stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, stomach cancer are associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. However, most infected carriers of Helicobacter pylori show no symptoms of disease.
