Giardia

This model demonstrates the structure of lamblia. Giardia is a genus of flagellate protists from the Diplomonadid order. They parasitize the small intestine of humans and many other mammals, as well as birds. One of the species of this genus - intestinal lamblia - is the causative agent of human giardiasis.
