Water potential

Water potential is the potential water energy per unit volume of relatively clean water under standard conditions. The highest potential of water in clean water, ψ is zero. When the salts are added, the potential of water will decrease below zero. Water movement will be carried out from a higher water potential towards water with low water potential.
